📌 Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit (as on 01.07.2025):
- Others (Unreserved): 18 – 32 years
- BC (OBCM), BCM, MBC/DC: Max 34 years
- SC, SC(A), ST: Max 37 years
- Destitute Widow: Max 37 years
- PwBD: Up to 42 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Up to 50 years
No maximum age limit for reserved categories & destitute widows who possess higher qualification than SSLC.
Educational Qualification:
- Must possess National Trade Certificate (NTC) or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) awarded by NCVT in any one of the following trades:
- Electrician
- Wireman
- Electrical Trade (Centre of Excellence Scheme)
Candidates with other or higher qualifications without NTC/NAC in Electrician/Wireman/Electrical are not eligible.
Knowledge in Tamil:
- Candidate must possess adequate knowledge in Tamil (SSLC / studied Tamil medium / Tamil as a subject / passed TNPSC Language Test).
Physical Standards:
- Vision: Standard III or better
- Must be physically fit with a certificate from the Government Hospital
PwBD Suitability:
- Eligible categories: HH (Hard of Hearing), LD (Locomotor Disability), AC (Acid Attack Victims), DF (Dwarfism), LC (Leprosy Cured).

- Paper I (SSLC Standard):
- Part A: Tamil Eligibility Test (100 Qs, 150 Marks – Qualifying: 60 Marks)
- Part B: General Studies (75 Qs, 150 Marks)
- Part C: Aptitude & Mental Ability (25 Qs, 50 Marks)
- Paper II (ITI Standard): Subject Paper – Electrician & Wireman (200 Qs, 300 Marks)
- Total Marks: 450 (Paper II + Part B & C of Paper I)
- Paper I (SSLC Standard):
- Onscreen Certificate Verification – Candidates shortlisted in a 1:5 ratio.
- Physical Test (TANGEDCO Regional Centres):
- Activity I: Pole climbing & cross arm fixing (30 ft pole, within 8 mins)
- Activity II: Rope plaiting & fixing conductor (within 2 mins)
- Activity III: Lifting & carrying 3 cross arms (35 kg, 100m, within 1 min)
- Physical Certificate Verification – Candidates shortlisted in a 1:1.2 ratio.
- Final Selection – Based on marks in the written exam (Paper II + Part B & C of Paper I) and reservation rules.
